Are You Ready?

A Verse

Matthew 24:44

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

A Comment

We tend to live without readiness for the return of Christ. Maybe the idea is embarrassing to us. Maybe we do not want to be perceived as fanatics. Maybe we simply do not take God’s Word seriously. Yet, Jesus commands us to be ready. We ought to be sober-minded, living with anticipation for the day when we will see Him face-to-face. Are you ready?

A Prayer

O Jesus, prepare our hearts for Your return. Wean us from the things of this world that we might hunger for Your appearing. Grant us this for Your glory and our good. In Your name, Amen.

A Blessing

And may the God of peace Himself make you holy through and through.
May your whole being, soul, spirit, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls you is faithful and He will accomplish it. Amen.
