But Now, In Christ

A Verse

Ephesians 2:13

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

A Comment

Verse 13 is so good! It teaches us that our greatest need has been met by the greatest provision. We who were far off have been brought near to God by the blood of Christ. As we were reminded in Ephesians 2:11-12, by nature, we were alienated from God and without hope in this world. But now, in Christ, all of this has changed. Those who have turned away from sin to Christ in repentance and faith have been united to Him, and have been brought near by His blood.

A Prayer

O’ God, thank you for the provision that you have made for us in Christ Jesus! We bless you for your great mercy. We extol you for your patience. Grant us to remember! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
