Ephesians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
A Comment
The reason for Paul’s call to blessing is because God has blessed us in Christ. We bless the one who has blessed us. But Paul realizes that we might not always recall the blessings that are ours in Christ. We might forget God’s blessings. And if we forget God’s blessings in Christ, then we will not fulfill our call to bless and praise God as His people. So, in verse 3, before enumerating the blessings in the following verses, Paul reminds us that every spiritual blessing is ours in Christ.
A Prayer
O’ Lord, grant us not to forget Your blessings. Let us reflect on them and respond to You with praise for Your blessings. Do this for Your glory and our good, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
