A Verse
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
A Comment
We do not drive out fear by our own effort. It is not a matter of willpower. It is a matter of God’s presence with us. He promises to strengthen and help His people. His righteous right hand will uphold us. He is committed to us, even when we are faithless. He will not deny Himself.
A Prayer
O’ Lord, drive out our fear with Your presence. We are fearful and needy people. Yet, it is in the moment of our weakness that You show Yourself to be strong. Open our eyes to behold this reality. Guard us against low views of You and Your power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Blessing
The peace of God,
which passes all understanding,
keep your hearts and minds
in the knowledge and love of God,
and of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord;
and the blessing of God Almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
remain with you always.
