A Verse
Psalm 111:2-3
Great are the works of the LORD;
they are pondered by all who delight in them.
Glorious and majestic are his deeds,
and his righteousness endures forever.
A Comment
Over the past three weeks, I have been studying prayer with my congregation. We have been working through a study on child-like prayer. One of the most important practices from that study has been the practice of writing down our prayers. As the author of the book that we were working through put it, “Specificity leads to visibility.” In other words, when we are specific in our prayers, we also tend to be more mindful of when those prayers are answered.
As we reflect on this morning’s passage, it is crucial that we see how God’s Word calls us to reflect on his works and deeds. While I certainly believe that these works and deeds include the great stories that we have received and cherish through Scripture, we should also work to ponder and reflect on the great works that God is doing in our life now as well.
So, this morning, I would ask you to pause and reflect in gratefulness on God’s mighty works.
