His Mercy is More

A Verse

Romans 5:15-17

But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

A Comment

As we look at the next sentence in our verse, we are reminded that while our sins were many, the grace of God in Christ is more! We should never pit our sinfulness against the power of God’s grace to forgive and cleanse us. There is no sin that He is not able to atone for and forgive us of because His mercy is unfathomably great!

A Prayer

O’ Jesus, thank you for your mercy! Thank you for your grace! Thank you for forgiving all who call upon You! Stir others to call upon Your name through us that they might be saved! In Your name, Amen.

A Blessing

Now the Savior, who died and rose and who reigns,
grant you joy in the midst of labor,
peace in the midst of troubles,
hope in the midst of despair,
and faithfulness in the midst of temptation. Amen.
