Ephesians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
A Comment
Our enjoyment of God’s blessings does not depend on our performance. Every spiritual blessing that we receive, we receive as those united with Christ. If there was a dominant theme in Paul’s theology, it would be the concept of being “in Christ.” Through faith, the Holy Spirit unites us to Christ so that every communicable blessing that He enjoys is enjoyed by us as well. This reality should provoke us to worship!
A Prayer
O’ Jesus, as the great Head of the church, thank you for caring for us, blessing us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms that can be communicated to those who have placed their trust in You. Stir us to worship You! In Your name, Amen.
