Hebrews 2:1
We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
A Comment
The author of Hebrews warns us that we must be sober-minding, paying attention to God’s call on our lives through the Gospel. When we focus on other things, we will be prone to drift away from the LORD. This passage warns us for our own good. We should not move on from what we have heard, but instead, pay closer, deeper attention to the things of God as revealed in Jesus Christ.
A Prayer
O LORD, in Your mercy, guard us against drifting from You. Keep our hearts and minds fixed on You. For our help comes from You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
