1 John 3:1
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
A Comment
While I doubt my children would feel loved just because they are called mine, with God as our Father, to be his children is to be loved by him. While earthly fathers are sure to fail and disappoint at times, our heavenly Father never fails. He lavishes his love on us as his children, and reminds us regularly that we belong to him. Given how often our enemy would tempt us to doubt our relationship to God as his children, we should welcome this reminder that we belong to the LORD God Almighty as precious and loved.
