Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
A Comment
Today’s passage reminds us that our brokenheartedness does not drive the Lord away from us. He draws near to those who are feeling crushed in spirit. Our struggles do not scare him away. As Psalm 73 tells us, the nearness of God is our good.
I’m not sure what you may be going through this morning, but I want you to know that you can be sure that the Lord is near you. He is close to those who are feeling crushed. Call out to him for help, for peace, for strength, and for mercy. He saves those who are crushed in spirit.
