Psalm 33:11
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
A Comment
If you are anything like me, you know what it’s like to make plans and then have to change them. There are so many things in life that are outside of our control. Hence, James tells us that when we make plans, we should say, “If the Lord wills.”
God, however, is not subject to such changes. His plans stand firm forever. Whatever God purposes comes to pass. There is great comfort to be found in this truth, especially when we think of the plans that God has revealed for us. His plan for the believers in Christ is fixed. And it will stand forever. We do not have to worry if he will be faithful to his plans or concerned that his plans might not turn out how he wishes. The purposes of his heart toward us remains, even through all generations.
