A Verse

Ephesians 1:18-19a

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

A Comment

What is this hope? It is the hope of glory, that is, the hope of a full and final salvation in Christ Jesus. This is the hope that we find in Christ’s return, when the fulness of His glory will be revealed and we will be like Him as He is, according to 1 John. We also see this language later in the book of Ephesians when Paul speaks of how Christ will “present to himself the church invested with glory, free from spot, wrinkle, or anything of the sort, holy and blameless before God” (Eph. 5:27).

Can you imagine a more powerful hope than the one that we have in Christ?

A Prayer

O’ LORD, fill us with hope this morning. In Your mercy, let us see and experience this hope, which, is ours in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Blessing

Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
