2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
A Comment
We have not been filled with God’s Spirit to be fearful. Instead, we have been given God’s Spirit that we might live in power, love, and self-control. The power we possess is power from God. The love that we express is empowered by God. The self-control that we practice is enabled by God. These are just a few of the reasons we have been filled with Spirit. May we walk in the Spirit today, reflecting His presence and power within us.
A Prayer
O LORD, grant us to walk in the Spirit today and not fulfill the desires of our flesh. Drive out our fearfulness by filling us afresh with the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
