A Verse
Matthew 20:26-28
Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.
A Comment
Jesus’ definition of greatness is fundamentally different than the world’s definition. Our world defines greatness as being able to be served by others. Jesus says greatness is being able to serve others. How will you pursue greatness in the Kingdom of God today?
A Prayer
O’ Jesus, give us a heart that longs to be great in your kingdom instead of the kingdoms of this world. As You came to serve us by giving Your life as a ransom for ours, let us also live in joyful sacrifice for the sake of others that they might know You. In Your name, Amen.
