1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.
A Comment
It may be a well-known (and well-worn) song, but the hymn, "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,” remains a classic reminder of the simple yet profound truth of the gospel: only through the person and work of Jesus can our sins be washed away. Nothing but the blood of Jesus can make us clean.
A Prayer
O’ Jesus, thank you for taking our place and washing away the sins of everyone who calls upon you in faith. Do not let us lose our wonder in this truth. Do not let us move on from the truth that You alone can save us. In Your name, Amen.
A Blessing
Now may the Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep restore your soul,
lead you in right paths,
walk beside you in the dark valley,
and bring you safely home to the home of the Lord forever more. Amen.
