Training Pastors in Latvia and Slovenia | A New Book Release on March 4th | A New Weekly Resource

Hey everyone,

It has been a while since I last wrote a newsletter. Things have been busy but very good. The Lord has certainly filled my plate!

Ministry at WHMI

In just a few days, I’ll be heading overseas again—this time to train pastors in two European countries where the gospel witness is small but growing. From February 26 to March 10, I’ll be in Riga, Latvia, and Ljubljana, Slovenia, teaching courses as part of my new role at World Hope Ministries International.

Latvia, where we’ll be teaching Introduction to Biblical Interpretation, is roughly 7% evangelical. This will be our second time training pastors there, and we’ve already seen a hunger for deep theological formation. Slovenia, however, is a different story—only about 0.01% of the population identifies as evangelical. This will be our first course in Ljubljana, where we’ll be teaching The Doctrine of Salvation, a foundational course for equipping pastors to preach and teach the gospel with clarity.

Between these training sessions, I’ll travel to Strasbourg, France, for a key partnership meeting. Strengthening relationships with local and regional leaders is crucial for expanding our work and supporting the church in these regions.

This trip is an investment in the long-term health of the church in places where theological resources are scarce and faithful gospel ministry can feel isolating. Would you pray for the pastors we’ll be training? Pray for their endurance, wisdom, and boldness as they shepherd their congregations. And pray that these courses will bear lasting fruit for the glory of God.

New Book Releases on March 4th

As you may have seen on social media, I have a new book coming out on March 4th. The book's name is When Poets Were Warriors: Retrieving a Biblical Vision of Masculinity. I am VERY excited about this book. Essentially, my goal was to consider the person and work of Jesus as the ultimate example of what it means to be a man. The world is full of counterfeit messages about true masculinity. This book is my small contribution to that whole conversation.

The Future of this Newsletter

In the days ahead, I plan to revive the daily devotional resource in this newsletter while adding a weekly podcast/essay resource that delves more deeply into hermeneutics, biblical studies, theology, church history, ethics, and culture.
